About Accounting Ledger

Accounting Ledger is where a bookkeeper keeps the books for several small businesses, and where each of those businesses can sign in to see its own numbers. Every business is a separate set of books.

For the bookkeeper

Invoices, Bills and Payments record what is owed and what was paid. Banking imports a bank statement and suggests a category for each transaction, which you confirm before anything reaches the books. Journal holds every entry, and Reports builds the profit and loss, balance sheet and other statements from posted entries.

For a business owner

The Overview is a plain-language picture of your business's position. Reports has your statements, and Requests is where your bookkeeper asks for a receipt or a quick explanation — you reply with a note and, if you like, a file.

One account, your own books

Everyone signs in as themselves, with their own Stallion account — the same account as every other Stallion app. A new account sees nothing until the bookkeeper approves it and shares a specific business's books with it. A business owner sees only the businesses shared with them, never anyone else's, and reads their numbers rather than editing the books.

Put it on your home screen

Accounting Ledger works as an app: no store download, and it opens full-screen like anything else on your phone. Set it up once:

iPhone / iPad (Safari)

  1. Open this site in Safari (not Chrome).
  2. Tap the Share button — the square with an arrow, bottom of the screen.
  3. Scroll the list and tap Add to Home Screen.
  4. Tap Add. The Ledger icon appears on your home screen.

Android (Chrome)

  1. Open this site in Chrome.
  2. Tap the ⋮ menu, top right.
  3. Tap Add to Home screen (on some phones, Install app).
  4. Tap Add or Install.

Each Stallion app can be added the same way, from its own site, and each has its own icon so they sit side by side.

Something wrong?

Accounting Ledger is still being built, so parts of it will change. If something looks wrong or does not load, email dj@buildstallion.com.
